The most helpful way to improve your listening skills is practing. You can do it by talking, repeating, listening etc. We advise you to listen to a very famous British radio station and be acquainted with the British pronounciation. Check the link and make the practice of listening a habit.

Another good thing is to listen podcasts and watch American/British TV shows. As you don't want to lose any joke while watching the TV shows you can download English subtitles and use them with moderation.
